Operational Security Expert

Role: Operational Security ExpertClearance: SC or Eligibility for SC

Location: London (Hybrid)

Rate: Up to £654/day Umbrella

Contract Length: 6-12 Months

Role details:

We're partnering with a global consultancy who are market leaders in Cybersecurity. They are looking for an Operational Security Expert lead and coordinate security incident response and recovery activities on behalf of the delivery organisation within a critical UK public sector programme.

You will serve as the operational link to the central security management service (CSMS), ensuring timely escalation, clear communication, and consistent response execution across all parties.

Responsibilities:

• Establish Operational Interlock with CSMS
• Incident Ownership
• Log Event Data Coordination
• Incident Playbook Development

Key Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in security operations or incident response, ideally within UK government, regulated industries, or critical national infrastructure.
• Proven ability to interface with central security teams, manage escalations, and lead coordinated response efforts.
• Good understanding of SIEM log sources, alerting workflows, and incident triage best practices.
• Familiarity with working in 24/7 security environments, including on-call or out-of-hours incident management.

Eligibility:

To be considered for the role, you must have active SC Clearance OR eligibility for clearance (UK Right to Work + Residence in the UK for the past 5 years)
