Buyer - Civils Contractor - Kent

A leading groundworks company in the South East is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Buyer to join their Procurement team. Their clients include Tier One Main Contractors, who return to them again and again for the early works of their construction projects which includes drainage, groundworks, landscaping and roads. These projects fall primarily within the residential, education and commercial sectors, ranging from £100,000 to £30m. Responsibilities:

• Source and purchase materials such as various aggregates, drainage, concrete and other essential supplies.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve the best value while maintaining quality standards.
• Optimizing procurement processes to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Monitor the performance of suppliers.
• Build, manage & maintain relationships with suppliers, site teams and other construction professionals.

Person Specification:

• Knowledge of purchasing materials in the civils/construction industry.
• Confident stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
