English Teacher (Part-Time, Fixed-Term)

Start Date: 1 September 2026Contract: Fixed-term (Maternity Cover until May 2027)Hours: 10 hours per week (0.63 FTE), across 2-3 days

A leading international secondary school is seeking a dedicated and experienced English Teacher to join their team on a part-time, fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave.

The Role

You will deliver high-quality English teaching across Key Stages 3 to 5, supporting students within a bilingual and multicultural environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher with experience or interest in both the British and French education systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach English across KS3, KS4 and KS5
  • Contribute to curriculum development, including:
    • Schemes of work
    • Assessments and mock examinations
    • Enrichment activities and educational trips
  • Collaborate closely with departmental colleagues
  • Participate actively in wider school life

Candidate Requirements

  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE/QTS, or French equivalent such as CAPES, CAFEP or Agrégation, or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level
  • Strong understanding of the French curriculum (essential)
  • Ability to teach from a native or near-native English perspective
  • Excellent teamwork skills, energy, and a proactive approach

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience teaching in France or within an international/French school network (desirable)
  • Familiarity with both Baccalauréat and GCSE/A-level pathways
  • Ability to teach across a fsecondary age range
  • International teaching experience (desirable)
  • Proficiency in French (advantageous)
