We are looking for a skilled Cabinet Maker, who can work straight from technical drawings with confidence. A proactive person, with meticulous attention to detail, and who will always see things through to completion. Is honest, reliable, and confident with their tools.

Are you a 'Cabinet Maker'/'Bench Joiner' who likes variety in your work week? Someone who enjoys taking ownership of your work, working on interesting commercial joinery projects, in range anywhere from 10K - 2M?

Main Objective of a 'Cabinet Maker': To construct bespoke joinery and furniture items for the high-end Cat B office fit-out client, within a busy workshop environment. To use a variety of workshop machinery and hand tools to ensure a quality finish to each item in production.

Location: Milton Keynes, Bletchley.

Basic Hours: 7-5pm, 47.5pw.

_ Overtime rates; Mon-Fri, time 1/3, Saturday, time +1/2, and Sunday Double time._

Key Responsibilities of a 'Cabinet Maker':

Work from 2D AutoCAD drawings to prepare, construct and manufacture joinery items to drawing specification. Items include Reception Desks, Ceiling Features, Tea Points (commercial kitchens), Storage Units, Display Shelving, Seating Booths, Bleacher Seating and more.
Plan sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performed.
Create accurate cutting lists to coordinate with CNC operator to program.
Consider appropriate joining methods and components for application.
Fabricate, renovate, and repair joinery and traditional furniture.
Work with internal teams to explore innovative construction methods and suitable materials.
Assemble furniture, including bespoke joinery.
Prepare, sand and finish wooden products to a high standard, including laminate and veneer.

Essential Requirements of a 'Cabinet Maker':

Must be able to read measurements off of 2D Auto CAD technical joinery drawings with confidence.
Must be able to operate woodworking machinery and hand tools with confidence.
Own full set of own hand tools; including chisel, block plane & electric drill.
Knowledgeable of manufacturing/assembly techniques.

Desirable:

Level 2/3 NVQ/ diploma in Bench Joinery, equivalent or above

CSCS Card (advantage, not essential)

Skills & Attributes of a 'Cabinet Maker':

Well organized and works methodically, with good time management.
Good written/verbal communication.
Demonstrates good Knowledge of joinery manufacturing techniques, familiar with common materials, components, and construction methods.
Mathematically precise, with the ability to use basic measuring equipment accurately.
Can apply self-initiative to work independently as well as work well in a team.
