This role has a starting salary of £79,260 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.

We are excited to be hiring a new Head of Pensions to join our fantastic service. This role is hybrid with a weekly balance of remote and in person working 2 days a week. Our base is the Surrey County Council, Dakota building in Weybridge.

About the Role

Here at the Surrey Pension Team we proudly work together as "one pensions team" to deliver our vision to provide our customers with a better tomorrow and ensure our pensioners can rely on us to pay them the right amount, on time, every time.

You will provide proactive, professional and autonomous leadership, continuously seeking to improve performance by strengthening skills and competence and maintaining a strong culture of standards and accountability with specific responsibility for:

  • Finance, HR and training data
  • Performance and customer insights
  • Supplier management
  • Marketing and communications project support

  • You are an inspirational and proven strategic leader, with a strong track record in leading continuous improvement activity across multiple resources disciplines in a pensions or similar environment.
  • An ability to drive our vision and mission, with the ability to translate strategy into practical plans and measurable performance, creating engagement among staff, customers and stakeholders.
  • Creativity and ability to bring fresh ideas to the team.
