Days: Monday to Friday (Full-time)

Pay rate: £350.88 per day

We are delighted to be supporting our client to recruit for a Mechanical Engineer on a temporary basis!

The purpose of the role:

The post holder will be supporting our client in delivering its mission to invest in housing and rebuild the town - they are looking for a skilled and motivated Gas and Heating engineer to join our team and help us make a real difference.

In this key role, you will be working both on-site and, in the office, so flexibility in your approach is essential. You will be part of a team that is committed to providing high-quality services to our residents, and we're looking for someone who shares that passion.

We are seeking a well-organised individual who can plan and manage their time effectively, and who takes pride in delivering excellent service. You'll need to bring strong technical and practical experience, along with sound knowledge of Gas, Heating, and Water legislation.

Job Description:

• Assist in the production of position statements on relevant technical guidance.
• Build and maintain positive relationships.
• Develop, maintain, and contribute to the improved culture of planned and preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Carry out surveys of mechanical installations and heating and hot water systems.
• Evaluate risk assessments on the condition, lifecycle and expiry of mechanical installations.
• Design new mechanical installations, including material and workmanship specifications.
• Assist the role of Building Services Manager (compliance) and Project Manager (projects/programmes).
• Day-to-day oversight of the mechanical installation's PPM and refurbishment programmes.
• Review, update and maintain real-time data for compliance monitoring of the Client's assets.

Key Person Specification:

• Good working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work act 1974.
• Current Gas and level 3 plumbing qualifications.
• Current Gas safe registration with domestic ACS qualifications.
• Experience working within local authority environments.
• A good level of commercial awareness
• Working knowledge of Micro soft products including outlook and Teams.
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and safety standards.
