Head of Physics

We are currently recruiting for an exceptional Head of Physics to join a well-regarded Secondary School in Milton Keynes on a permanent basis from September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate Physics specialist to lead a dedicated department and shape the future of science education at the school.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Physics curriculum, leading a team of talented educators, and ensuring outstanding teaching and learning across all year groups. This Head of Physics position offers a chance to make a lasting impact in a vibrant school community that values academic excellence and professional development.

• Lead and manage the Physics department to ensure high-quality teaching and student outcomes.
• Develop and implement engaging schemes of work aligned with the national curriculum.
• Support and mentor Physics staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative teaching environment.
• Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise achievement.
• Liaise with senior leadership and contribute to the wider science faculty.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential).
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred.
• UK classroom experience in Physics is essential.
• Previous Head of Physics or Head of Department experience is highly desirable.
• A commitment to safeguarding, student welfare, and continuous improvement.
