Contract Duration: Due for extension on 11 December 2026

Location: Reading / Paddington

Rate: £450-£499 per day inside IR35

On-site Expectation: 4-6 days per month in Reading, plus 2 days per month in Paddington (Tues/Weds/Thurs)

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled Data Access PCRF Designer to help shape the policy control and charging capabilities that underpin our 5G, 4G, and 3G mobile data services. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and developing the Data Access Policy platforms and interfaces that support our next-generation mobile data experience.You'll play a key part in building a fully 5G Standalone-ready control plane, centred on 3GPP-compliant PCF, PCRF, and UDR platforms. This includes defining the interfaces to our BSS and OCS systems, and ensuring we build the most effective and efficient policies into these platforms. Your contribution will directly support both customer experience and revenue optimisation across our network.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design of our cloud-native PCF, PCRF, and UDR platforms for 5G, 4G, and 3G, including full 5G Standalone capability.
• Translate business requirements for new products and services into cost-effective technical solutions.
• Lead technical engagement with internal stakeholders including Operations Support, Test, WLT, Marketing, Revenue Assurance, Service Management, and the TSA security team.
• Work proactively within virtual teams to help deliver best-in-class services.
• Continuously develop your knowledge to ensure our network remains at the forefront of technology.

Key Skills, Experience & BehavioursTo be successful in this role, you will need:

• Proven technical expertise in PCRF platform architecture, including strong experience with Diameter interfaces.
• Solid working knowledge of 5G Standalone architecture and interfaces.
• Deep understanding of PCRF policy design to support both current and future data product needs.
• Good knowledge of BSS provisioning architecture and subscriber management for PCRF/UDR databases.
• Strong technical grounding in cloud-native and VNF platform architecture and deployment.
• A customer-focused mindset, with the ability to approach design challenges from the end-user's perspective.
