Pensions Transition Data & Technical Specialist

We are supporting a leading consultancy that is looking for a Transition Data & Technical Specialist to join their expanding pensions team in either London or Winchester. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in DB pensions data and benefit calculations who enjoys tackling complex technical challenges and improving processes.

The Role

As part of the transition team, you'll play a key role in managing the technical side of onboarding new pension schemes. You'll be responsible for ensuring scheme data is accurately migrated and reconciled, configuring and testing benefit calculations in administration systems, and producing clear documentation to support clients and colleagues. Alongside day-to-day project delivery, you'll also contribute ideas to enhance tools and processes, driving efficiency and accuracy across the team.

In this role, you'll:

• Lead data analysis, transformation, and migration for DB scheme transitions.
• Configure and test automated calculations in administration platforms.
• Draft and review benefit summaries and technical documentation.
• Conduct detailed audits and reconciliations, resolving discrepancies.
• Present complex findings in a clear, client-friendly way.
• Support project planning and deliverables, ensuring standards and timelines are met.
• Contribute to process and technology improvements across the function.

About You

We're looking for a highly analytical problem-solver with an eye for detail and strong pensions knowledge. You'll bring:

• Solid experience in DB pensions administration, particularly with data and calculations.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.
• Experience in drafting or reviewing benefit specifications or similar technical documents.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills - able to explain technical matters clearly.
• A proactive approach with a track record of identifying and delivering improvements.
