Trade compliance operations - Freight

Our client is seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Specialist to support customs operations and regulatory compliance across UK and EU markets.

• Ensure accurate and timely completion of trade compliance reports and KPIs
• Classify goods correctly using appropriate tariff codes
• Complete and monitor import, export, transit, ICS and ENS declarations
• Provide UK import guidance and liaise with HMRC
• Manage CITES permits, applications, notifications and trackers
• Audit customs entries to ensure compliance with UK/EU regulations
• Maintain accurate records, trackers, SharePoint documentation and invoicing
• Support internal projects and improve operational efficiencies
• Build strong relationships across departments and external partners

• 3-5 years' experience in customs or trade compliance (corporate or brokerage environment)
• Strong knowledge of UK & EU customs regulations and documentation
• Experience with CITES permits (desirable)
• Solid understanding of commodity codes, duties, valuation and Incoterms
• Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible approach, with occasional weekend work as required
