£21.53 per hour PAYE or £27.54 per hour limited paid via umbrella company inside IR35

Our client is looking for an experienced Benefits Assessment Officer.

This is for a contractor position on the Adult Social Care Financial Assessment Team within our revenues and benefits service, available until April 2026. The role involves:

• Conducting adult social care financial assessments to determine how much individuals can contribute towards their care.
• Gathering financial details and expenditure.
• Handling queries in writing and over the phone.
• Liaising with various departments within the Local Authority and external agencies.
• Advising service users on potential benefits and deferred payment arrangements.
• Reviewing information entered by Social Workers in the Mosaic system.

This is a busy team, and officers need to adapt their day to handle urgent or priority cases and phone calls. Often, queries will involve multiple departments, requiring effective liaison.

We are looking for candidates with:

• Experience in conducting adult social care financial assessments or corporate debt recovery, with a broad knowledge of Welfare Benefits.
• Experience in handling review requests, complaints, and queries.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload and prioritise cases.
• Flexibility to adapt to urgent or priority cases and queries.

Preferred qualifications include experience using Mosaic and Oracle.
