SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1)

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support at a specialised SEN school in Milton Keynes. This role is crucial for facilitating the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide tailored one-to-one support to a designated student, helping them to engage with the curriculum and achieve their educational goals.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Facilitate communication between the student and their peers to promote inclusion in the classroom.
- Monitor and support the student's emotional and behavioural needs, implementing strategies to manage anxiety or behavioural challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the student's education and welfare.
- Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of the student.
- Encourage and support the student's independence and self-confidence.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an SEN setting.
- Experience providing one-to-one support to students with special educational needs.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by SEN students and effective strategies to aid their learning and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring, and professional demeanor.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo this check).
