The role & about the client: On behalf of our client, ITS Building People are searching for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join a dynamic, and forward-thinking Main Contractor for a project based in West London. Due to sustained and continuous growth as well as an order book stretching well past 2028, they are looking to add to their management team.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Oversee all aspects of the construction process, including site preparation, construction, and handover to the client.
- Lead and manage a team of site managers, supervisors, and tradespeople, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and support to perform their work.
- Develop and implement site-specific health and safety plans and ensure that all site personnel comply with health and safety regulations and standards.
- Monitor progress of work, identify and resolve any issues that may arise, and take corrective action where necessary.
- Coordinate with sub-contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure that materials, equipment, and services are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.
- Attend regular meetings with clients and provide regular progress reports to senior management.
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, and take corrective action where necessary to address any deviations from the project plan.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and ensure that their expectations are managed and met.
- Ensure that site personnel are trained and developed, and that their performance is regularly reviewed and assessed.
- Ensure that all necessary permits and approvals are obtained, and that all work is carried out in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Adhere to the policies, process and procedures in the Integrated Management System and the Information Security Management System.
The ideal candidate - A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction, with at least 7 years in a senior site management role.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, sub-contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data, and make informed decisions based on that data.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to find creative solutions to complex problems.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards, and the ability to develop and implement site-specific health and safety plans
Essential Qualifications/ experience required/ specific requirements for the role:
- Bachelor s degree in construction management, Engineering or a related field.
