About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Lecturer to join a college in Romford on a temporary basis. You will support learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN), delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that cater to a range of learning abilities and needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping students build confidence, independence, and essential skills for future education or employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive lessons tailored to SEN learners
• Assess, monitor, and track student progress against individual learning goals
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including EHCP requirements
• Support students' personal development, communication, and life skills
• Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
• Work closely with support staff, therapists, and external professionals
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to review meetings

About You

• Experience working with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent) - desirable
• Experience in a college or FE setting
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and SEN support strategies
• Excellent communication, patience, and classroom management skills
• Passionate about supporting learners with additional needs

Desirable:

• Experience working with EHCPs
• Knowledge of a range of learning difficulties and disabilities (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
• Experience delivering functional skills or life skills programmes
• Familiarity with the UK FE curriculum and SEN frameworks
