Assembly Technician

BAE Systems are currently recruiting for an Assembly Technician to work at their Broadoak site in Portsmouth for an initial 6 month contract!

The role

• Manufacture, repair or modify complex Radar, Avionics and Underwater military products
• Able to work with no supervision and limited engineering support
• Repair/modify current and legacy products
• Assemble/process product in accordance with defined work instructions or detailed technical drawings
• Support and assist in the training of personnel

Skills Required

• Have a good understanding of an assembly discipline such as wiring, fitting, PCB assembly, Microelectronics processing or similar
• Be formally qualified in appropriate Workmanship Standard e.g. ANSI J, IPC or similar
• Able to perform assembly/disassembly or modification tasks on electronic or mechanical components, subassemblies and systems - encompassing new build, and repairs products
• Ability to work unsupervised.

Clearance Requirements & Eligibility

This role will require you to hold or be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC). You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period.
