Job Requirements/Description
  1. The post holder will provide strategic leadership role in developing integrated pathways, facilitating and promoting innovation and transformation to improve outcomes for Southwark residents by using a deep understanding of the population health needs for in Southwark, the challenges in meeting those needs as well as the opportunities for meeting needs.
  1. The post holder will design and use co-production approaches to ensure the voice and experience of Southwark people, including service users, patients and carers, is at the heart.
  1. The post holder will provide expertise and leadership in translating relevant national, regional and local policy and direction associated with developing, transforming and improving local services and support for residents of Southwark, including working with counterparts from neighbouring boroughs and the SEL ICB Planning Team.
  1. The post holder will lead and develop a much stronger approach on prevention and targeted early action as well as deeper integration across health and local government partners, as well as wider council services within Partnership Southwark.
  1. The post holder will be expected to foster a strong working relationship with internal and external stakeholders, cultivating a supportive and safe environment in which strengths can be shared, challenges made and the impact of decisions on the whole system reviewed and understood by using well developed communication and influencing skills to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  1. Provide expertise and leadership as well as work effectively with senior leaders in both the Council and the ICB, including elected members, clinical and professional leads, and Directors and Partnership Southwark Leadership.
  1. The post holder will have budgetary responsibilities aligned to the programme and will have responsibilities for ensuring that resources are deployed effectively to deliver the programme and use excellent negotiation skills as appropriate.
  1. The post holder will be directly responsible for setting and monitory all budgets associated with the management of the programme; act in a way that is compliant with Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions in the discharge of this responsibility; and constantly strive for value for money and greater efficiency in the use of these budgets and ensure that they operate in recurrent financial balance year on year.
  1. The post holder will have leadership responsibilities aligned to the programme and will be expected to contribute to the wider borough based team development, including line management responsibility for staff within the programme team.
  1. Forge positive working relationships, in order to support an effective matrix approach to achieve joint objectives; and manage, motivate and develop staff within the team to ensure that they are able to deliver the programme responsibilities.
