Parker Smith Inclusion are working with an independent school based in Tower Hamlets (short walk from Liverpool Street) and they are seeking a part time SENCO to oversee the strategic duties of the SENCo role. This means there is no teaching involved however we're looking for candidates that have done the SENCo role and are confident with the policies, procedures and working hand in hand with the local authority around fundings for EHCPs.

This is a small school with 22 students and their cohort has recently increased with children that have high learning needs, non-verbal, learning difficulties and complex needs and they are developing their SEN department. This opportunity is a chance to be part of something that is ever-growing, since working with this school for one year they've gone from 1 learner to 22 and are continuing to spread the message across Tower Hamlets, that each child deserves a chance at their education.

We're looking for candidates that will be advocates for SEN and believe in the schools message and ethos.

Must have experience with the following;

Experience contributing to or leading whole-school SEND strategy, policy development, and improvement planning. Evidence of working as part of the senior leadership team (SLT) or influencing whole-school approaches to inclusion and differentiation Experience collaborating with local authority SEND officers, educational psychologists, and health and social care professionals. Strong understanding of the EHCP process, including preparing evidence, attending multi-agency meetings, and securing additional funding or placements. Experience managing or advising on SEND budgets, including notional SEND funding and top-up (EHCP) funding. Ability to evaluate provision and ensure effective use of funding to improve outcomes for pupils with SEND. Ability to evaluate provision and ensure effective use of funding to improve outcomes for pupils with SEND. Strong leader to manage a team of Learning Support Assistants and overall SEN department.

Working closely with local authority panels for EHCP assessments or funding decisions. Involvement in strategic inclusion planning across a multi-academy trust (MAT) or cluster of schools. Experience conducting SEND audits and contributing to the School Improvement Plan (SIP). Familiarity with SEND Code of Practice (2015) and updates to Children and Families Act (2014) and local SEND reforms.
