Speech and Language Therapist (SALT)

Duties Assess, plan, and deliver individual and group speech and language therapy for pupils with varying communication needs. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists to develop and implement personalised communication strategies. Contribute to EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plans) assessments and reviews. Provide training, advice, and support to school staff and parents/carers to ensure communication goals are carried over into all environments. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and documentation in line with school and professional standards. Contribute to the wider development of the therapy provision within the school. Requirements A recognised qualification in Speech Therapy or equivalent is essential. Experience working with diverse populations, including children and adults with varying needs, is advantageous. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for effective interaction with clients and their families. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment. Familiarity with assistive technology for communication may be beneficial.
