Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Full Time 1-Year Fixed-Term Contract
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team on a full-time, fixed-term contract for one year.
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident HLTA who can provide high-quality classroom support and deliver whole-class teaching when required. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring consistency across the school by covering classes across all key stages and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
Working Hours
8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
The role includes supporting with either a before-school club or an after-school club as part of the working day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide class cover across all key stages as required.
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and manage whole-class learning effectively.
- Support the smooth day-to-day running of the school by providing consistent classroom cover.
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour and learning.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including breakfast clubs and after-school activities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- HLTA status or significant experience working at HLTA level.
- Proven experience delivering lessons to whole classes.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.
- Experience supporting pupils across a range of age groups and abilities.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to working across different key stages.
- A positive, professional and collaborative attitude.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as an HLTA within a UK school.
- Experience leading whole-class teaching and learning.
- Strong knowledge of classroom practice and behaviour management.
- Right to work in the UK.
