Data Cabling Engineer

Our client, a world-renowned structured cabling company, has managed a prestigious contract at Gatwick Airport for more than 20 years. Due to the continued expansion of the airport they are able to offer further long term opportunities to grow their workforce.

Job Overview:

• Pay: £220 Per Shift
• Location: Gatwick Airport
• Install, terminate, and test internal copper cabling including Cat6; Cat6a and Cat7.
• Work on cabling projects for CCTV, access control systems, digital signage, connecting all network devices across the airport and terminating in numerous communications rooms.
• Adhere to full CDM regulations within a construction environment.
• Optional: Fibre splicing inside the building.
• Due to the high volume of traffic in the terminals the vast majority of the work will be undertaken at night (Shifts 8pm 4am).

What You'll Need To Succeed:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in internal copper installation, termination, and testing of Cat6 ethernet cabling, working for a structuring cabling company in a construction environment
• Proven (referenceable) track record of consistent excellence in this type of environment
• You will need to provide complete 5 years work references in order to obtain a security pass. An accountant s reference is acceptable and often the easiest way to achieve this.
• Experience with cabling for CCTV, access control systems, and audio visual systems.
• Ability to terminate in comms rooms.
• Fibre splicing experience is advantageous but not required.
• You must hold a current, relevant ECS card and IPAF as much of the work is at high level
• Note: Candidates with experience only in external fibre or FTTP environments will not be considered.
