Job Title: Production Engineer

Location: Hythe, Kent (you will need to drive and have your own transport)

Salary: up to £45,000

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am - 5pm (potential to change to Monday to Friday 8-4 from the New Year)

Role Summary:

You will be responsible for designing and optimising manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality and safety in our clients production operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and support the introduction of new products.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:

  • Design and develop manufacturing processes including production layouts and workflows.
  • Select appropriate and equipment and tooling for jobs.
  • Ensure that products meet defined quality standards.
  • Implement quality control measures throughout the production process.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure that all production activities adhere to relevant safety regulations and protocols.
  • Work closely with other engineers, production staff and stakeholders to ensure smooth production operations.
  • Provide training and technical support to personnel on new processes and equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce production costs and improve profitability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for process or quality deviations.
  • Develop technical documentation, including work instructions and process guidelines.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators to track progress and drive continuous improvement.

Experience and skills required for this position:

  • Proficient in relevant software and tools such as CAD/CAM, simulation software and data analysis tools.
  • Proven experience in process design, troubleshooting and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment and materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
