My client, a leader in the injection moulding industry, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will work to optimise manufacturing processes, ensure production efficiency, and contribute to the continuous improvement of operations within a fast-paced environment.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will focus on improving quality, performance, and safety standards while supporting the development and implementation of new processes and equipment.
Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Engineer
- Identify unsafe practices, escalate immediately, and propose solutions to overcome issues.
- Verify that manufacturing processes are fit for purpose by ensuring quality and performance targets are met, with no health and safety issues.
- Conduct risk assessments when required to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers to assess the effectiveness of quality control systems.
- Develop operating instructions and troubleshooting guides for manufacturing processes/equipment.
- Monitor manufacturing processes and identify potential improvements for efficiency.
- Investigate breakdowns and propose preventive actions to reduce future disruptions.
- Provide training and guidance to colleagues on existing and new equipment.
- Ensure that root causes of issues are identified and robust corrective actions are implemented.
- Participate in process improvement teams to resolve production-related issues.
- Stay updated on industry specifications, technology, and manufacturing processes.
- Attend training courses and participate in a Continuing Professional Development programme to gain professional recognition.
- Comply fully with all current work instructions and Health & Safety regulations while carrying out your duties.
- Carry out any reasonable tasks within your capabilities to support the team.
Qualifications & Requirements Manufacturing Engineer
- Extensive manufacturing experience in injection moulding and assembly equipment.
- Proven experience in implementing new processes and equipment and leading continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Ideally educated to degree level, or hold an advanced apprenticeship in engineering (or equivalent work-based experience).
- Engineering experience with strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Assembly and moulding equipment experience (desired).
- IEE 17th or 18th Edition certification (preferred).
- PLC experience (desired).
- Air and pneumatics training (desired).
- In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety processes and standards.
