Key Responsibilities

• Performance tuning of MySQL databases across a large on-premise estate.
• Managing replication and HA, ensuring fast recovery and minimal downtime.
• Proactive monitoring and optimisation.
• Maintaining reliable backup and recovery procedures.
• Collaborating with developers, analysts and the wider IT team on schema design and deployments.
• Supporting infrastructure upgrades and patching programmes.

Candidate Profile

• Strong DBA in MySQL or MS SQL administration experience (performance tuning, HA, replication).
• Confident with Linux/Unix (Red Hat preferred).
• Comfortable in a busy on-premise environment.
• Familiarity with monitoring and backup tools.
• Desirable: SQL Server administration and storage optimisation experience.
