Reed is supporting an outstanding primary SEN school in London, dedicated to children with severe and complex learning difficulties, many of whom also have autism. The school is at an exciting stage of development, with expansion plans and a holistic, child-centred curriculum in place. We are seeking an inspirational and enthusiastic Special Needs Teacher to join this dynamic team.
Day-to-day of the role: - Deliver personalised and engaging lessons to pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties, using innovative and imaginative resources.
- Work on personalised goals with planned sequences of lessons that cater to individual needs.
- Take a leading role in a specific area of the curriculum, contributing actively to curriculum development and enhancement.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teamwork and maintain close liaison with families as part of the 'team around the child' approach.
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the school community's growth and success.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong track record as an exceptional classroom practitioner.
- Experience in, or a strong desire to work within, special education needs (SEN) settings.
- Ability to create and maintain a stimulating, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Excellent understanding of the educational and emotional needs of children with severe and complex learning difficulties.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a curriculum area effectively.
- Commitment to professional development and a proactive approach to learning new skills.
