Air Cargo Security Warehouse Supervisor / Air Freight Depot Manager who has a high attention to detail with team leadership and management skills is required to coordinate and lead a warehouse team that screens all air freight for security threats before being loaded on to aircraft at Heathrow Airport.

SALARY: £30,000 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Heathrow Airport, Hounslow, West London (TW4)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS / SHIFTS: 6am - 4:30pm, 4 On / 4 Off

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Air Cargo Security Warehouse Supervisor / Air Freight Depot Managerwho has a high attention to detail with team leadership and management skills.

Working as the Air Cargo Security Warehouse Supervisor / Air Freight Depot Manager you will lead a team of warehouse operatives to ensure all international mail and packages are screened for security threats prior to being loaded on to the aircraft for delivery overseas.

This is a vital role within the organisation and you will need to have an extremely high attention to detail with the ability to follow strict procedures when screening and processing air freight.

As the Air Cargo Security Warehouse Supervisor / Air Freight Depot Manager you will generally work with other supervisors and managers during your shift. Sometimes you could be in the office completing reports, carrying out general administrative duties associated to the role, liaising with airlines and managing transport bookings and other times you'll be in the warehouse supervising your team.

As a successful candidate you'll need to have good team leadership skills and be fine in a 'hands on' role, as you will also need to roll up your sleeves and help your team with the day-to-day air freight screening, during busy periods or staff absences.

Ideally you will have worked in the aviation industry in a similar international mail, shipping, logistics or distribution organisation.

Due to the nature of the work, you will need to be Security Cleared for an Airside Pass and in possession of a valid Level D Certificate. If you already have this, then great. If not, the company will arrange this.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Air Cargo Security Warehouse Supervisor / Air Freight Depot Manager include:

• Coordinate and lead the warehouse team, assigning daily duties and monitoring performance

• Manage transport bookings, including ad-hoc collections, and liaise with drivers and transport providers

• Handle Customs entry processes in line with regulatory requirements

• Communicate with airlines and resolve any delivery or documentation discrepancies

• Ensure all forklift operators are certified, competent, and authorised to operate equipment

• Provide hands-on support on the warehouse floor when operationally required

• Ensure rotational shift pattern is maintained, and that an appropriate handover is carried out at the end of shifts

• Maintain shift rotation schedules and ensure thorough handovers between shifts

• Operate dispatching systems and Customs software proficiently (full training provided)

• Ensure strict adherence to all CAA security regulations and internal screening procedures, promoting a culture of vigilance and compliance in all security matters

• You are honest, reliable and have a strong work ethic

• Have excellent attention to detail and take pride in your work

• You will have a good financial understanding of the business' activity, excellent English communication skills and are willing to follow manual and computer led tasks

• You have shift flexibility (shifts will include Sundays)

• You constantly look for improvements and have a critical view towards the processes and systems

• Be a team player who is willing to provide cover for other Operations management/supervisory team members when required

• You have good organisational skills, and therefore can manage time effectively to complete workloads and meet deadlines
