Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Coordinator / Storeman to manage site logistics, material handling, and inventory control on a busy construction site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring materials and equipment are efficiently received, stored, and distributed to support site operations.

Our client are building a major new renewable energy facility in Essex; over the next 12 months there will be a large amount of construction materials and specialised equipment arriving on site to support the build.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate deliveries, ensuring materials arrive on time and in the correct quantities.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of site inventory, including tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure proper storage and security of all site materials and tools.
  • Work closely with the site management team to plan and schedule deliveries to avoid delays and congestion.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and report shortages or excesses.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storage area.
  • Oversee the distribution of materials to the workforce as required.
  • Liaise with suppliers and logistics providers to resolve any delivery issues.
  • Enforce health and safety protocols related to material handling and storage.
  • Operate and maintain site plant and equipment such as forklifts (if required and trained).

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in construction logistics, warehousing, or material management.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
  • Basic IT skills for inventory management and record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to construction logistics.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in construction logistics or a similar role.
  • CSCS card
  • First Aid at Work certification (advantageous but not essential).
