Caretaker

Salary: £28,000-£30,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm

We're looking for a skilled and proactive Caretaker to support residential properties across the CR and SE postcode areas. This full-time role combines hands-on maintenance with occasional cleaning and fire safety checks. You'll work alongside another caretaker, sharing responsibilities and ensuring properties remain safe, functional, and well-presented. • Perform basic plumbing tasks (e.g. changing taps, waste pipes)
• Carry out basic electrical repairs (e.g. sockets, light switches)
• Handle basic carpentry (e.g. doors, handles)
• Conduct fire safety checks (e.g. alarm panels, smoke/heat detectors, fire doors, seals, closers)
• Apply mastic and carry out lock changes
• Paint and decorate as needed
• Clean properties occasionally when they become vacant
• Collaborate with another caretaker covering the same area

• Proven experience in caretaking or general maintenance
• Competence in plumbing, electrics, carpentry, and fire safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation
• Reliable, punctual, and proactive approach
