High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - SEND Focus
Location: Maidstone ? Independent School - Mixed Primary & Secondary Age Groups Start Date: ASAP Contract: Until End of Term (with potential for extension)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive independent school in Maidstone, working across both primary and secondary age groups. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality classroom support across a range of subjects and age groups.
- Deliver targeted 1:1 support to a secondary-aged student with Down syndrome, promoting independence and engagement.
- Assist in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities tailored to individual needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to implement EHCPs and personalised strategies.
- Support behaviour management and emotional wellbeing in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly Down syndrome.
- Confidence working across both primary and secondary age ranges.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach.
- Available to start immediately and commit until at least the end of term.
