Our client, a recognised player in the Freight Forwarding and Transportation industry who specialise in offering supply chain and logistics solutions, ground transportation, air and ocean shipments, customs clearance, and supply chain management are looking to recruit a Junior Key Account Operations Coordinator, to be based at their offices in Basildon, Essex

Main Purpose of the Junior Key Accounts Coordinator role:

Reporting to the Key Account Department Team Leader and working closely with the sea freight forwarding operations team, you will support with successfully managing and servicing client accounts with international shipping & logistics needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and execute the departments vision of good business development in order to successfully deliver sea freight operations for the customer account
  • Accurately enter the job information into the company system upon receipt of orders
  • Documentation and Cargo:
  • Verifying all documentation, such as invoices, packing lists and Dangerous Goods Notes are accurate and complete
  • Identify and inform relevant parties are notified of any discrepancies within the documentation or cargo
  • Ensure cargo is received in good orders, and meets standards and regulations within the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)
  • Monitor the discrepancies and ensure all are resolved within a reasonable timeframe
  • Maintain communication with internal teams, the customer, and their suppliers
  • Coordinate with suppliers to schedule collections and deliveries within the window stated
  • Keep up-to-date and accurate records of all logistics and job activities, including current discrepancies and progress
  • Generate reports required to maintain efficiency and accuracy
  • Update the operational Purchase Order Management System
  • Maintain and utilise the operational system at all times
  • Follow the clients SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) in relation to the customer account
  • Always maintain excellent customer and inter-departmental relationships giving regular feedback to line manager
  • Implement and improve new efficiencies in customer workflow in conjunction with line manager
  • Ensure all reports are generated by the given deadlines and handed to Line Manager

To Be Considered:

  • Proficient with Microsoft packages especially Excel as well as have general PC knowledge
  • Must be able to prioritise and organise own workload with attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • General understanding of logistics processes and procedures (desirable)
