Senior Quantity Surveyor - Highways Maintenance

One of my close clients in the Tier 1 Private Borough Contractor space is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work prestigious Highways Maintenance projects in London.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing detailed Bill of Quantities and cost estimates
• Managing and overseeing all stages of the project lifecycle, from inception to completion
• Conducting site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with plans and contract terms
• Providing accurate and timely cost advice and financial reporting
• Collaborating with stakeholders to develop procurement strategies
• Ensuring effective cost control and value engineering
• Negotiating contracts with clients, contractors, and suppliers
• Identifying and managing commercial risks

Job Requirements:

• Extensive experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the highways/maintenance sector
• NEC3/NEC4 Contract experience
• Strong proficiency in preparing Bill of Quantities
• Excellent understanding of construction contracts and procurement strategies
• Proven ability to manage project finances and deliver accurate cost reporting
• Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Capability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment
• Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
