The school is based near Leatherhead and they are looking for a care support worker - special needs. They provide support for primary, secondary and further education aged pupils who have a wide range of complex learning and behavioural needs. All students that attend the school have a designated Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) which details their specific needs in terms of the care and support they will have access to.

The school provides a unique, specialist environment that closely fits the needs and challenges that the students face. The school offers a highly specialised curriculum which aims to ensure all pupils can reach their potential. The students' needs include Autism, Downs Syndrome, communication needs and they do require high levels of care and support.

Education and Training - Specialist secondary school for students with a range of complex learning needs such as autism, down's syndrome, speech and language challenges and social, emotional needs

Classes range from 6-8 in size with a focus on implementing effective communication techniques

Therapy rooms and designated areas for specialist support from a range of therapists including SALTs, Occupational therapists, psychologists and counsellors

An Integrated Trauma Informed Approach and extensive 1-1 support for every pupil

Specialist communication methods such as Makaton and PECS

Focus on preparation for GSCE subjects and building a curriculum that works for their individual needs

The school likes to focus on LSAs who know their objectives and who would like to continue their journey to become a speech and language therapist

A psychology degree or specialist SEN training is highly desirable

High levels of training and commitment to your professional development provided for those that have little experience

February 25 starts depending on your availability - 85 - 100 per day - 8.30am-3.30pm
