Lead Software Engineer

Profectus Recruitment are working with an exciting start-up who are looking for a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to help scale their automated production systems. This is a great opportunity to join a small, innovative team where you'll have real ownership and influence. What you'll be doing:

• Leading the development of embedded software for automated production applications.
• Owning and maintaining software modules and operational tools.
• Mentoring junior engineers and shaping best practices.
• Working across embedded, automation, and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS).
• Collaborating on AI/ML projects and data-driven improvements.

Required Experience:

• Strong background in Python (with some C++).
• Experience in embedded systems and automation/control mechanisms.
• Track record of leading or mentoring software engineers.
• Exposure to AWS and AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV) is a big plus.
• Flexible, solutions-focused mindset - comfortable in a start-up environment.

Nice-to-haves:

• Microcontrollers (Raspberry Pi, Okdo, Tinker Edge R).
• Robotics, servo/stepper motors or automated machinery experience.
• Mobile app development (Android/iOS).
