Yard Supervisor / Class 1 Shunter Driver

We are proud to working alongside our client, a well-established national organisation with their search for a Yard Supervisor / Shunter Driver to be based on site in Portsmouth

What does the role involve?

• To supervise the day-to-day running of all aspects of the yard of the haulage company
• To teach best practice into all members the yard team
• To monitor and manage the performance to optimum levels of all yard staff
• To ensure all product / Vehicles is always correctly positioned, well presented and accessible
• Signing/Checking All Deliveries
• Ensuring Excellent Housekeeping In Yard/Workshop Area.
• Security / Gatehouse Duties ( Signing visitors in and out band directing accordingly)
• Completing site inductions for Hauliers
• Traffic Management
• General Yard coordinator house keeping
• Implementing site safety rules and reporting incidents to Supervisor
• Carry out Shunting work of vehicles within the yard

Your Experience

• Knowledge of HGV vehicles would be ideal as the role involves visual checks on Vehicles
• Experience within a supervisory role will be ideal but not essential
• Experience of HGV Driving is essential
• Successful candidates must possess a minimum of an HGV Class 1 Licence
• Can multi-Task and prioritise duties.
