Management Accountant

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our finance team in a leading manufacturing & production business based in Bedford. This role will provide critical financial insights, support cost control, and drive profitability through financial analysis and reporting.

Description

Management Accountant

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Conduct cost analysis to monitor production expenses and improve efficiency.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Support the month-end and year-end close process.
• Monitor manufacturing costs, standard costing, and cost variances.
• Oversee inventory valuation, stock reconciliations, and work-in-progress (WIP) analysis.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Work closely with operations, production, and procurement teams to ensure cost control and efficiency.
• Provide financial insights to non-finance teams to drive business performance.

Profile

A successful Management Accountant should have:

• A degree in finance or related field.
• Studying toward ACCA or CIMA
• Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Good organisational and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
