This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified English specialist with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who is ready to take the next step in leadership or an existing Head of Department looking for a new challenge.

The Role:

• Lead and manage the English department across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
• Drive high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement
• Develop and implement an engaging, ambitious English curriculum
• Support, mentor, and develop teaching staff within the department
• Monitor progress and implement strategies to raise attainment
• Promote a culture of excellence, creativity, and high expectations

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
• A degree in English or a related subject
• Proven experience teaching English at secondary level
• Strong leadership or middle leadership experience (or clear readiness for progression)
• A track record of improving outcomes
• Excellent behaviour management and organisational skills
• A passion for literature, language, and student achievement
