Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:45 PM (Monday-Friday), plus a weekly staff meeting until 4:30 PM

Job Description:
As an SEN teacher, you will:
- Lead a KS2 class of 6 pupils with sensory needs and challenging behaviours, supported by 4 experienced teaching assistants.
- Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and sensory-focused lessons tailored to the needs of pupils working at EYFS ranges 3-6 (equivalent to old P levels P4-P7).
- Use PECS, core boards, and TouchChat to support verbal and non-verbal communication.
- Manage challenging behaviours with a calm and proactive approach, fostering a positive and safe learning environment.
- Promote independence and ensure learning is age-appropriate while tailored to each child's individual needs.
- Handle medical, sensory, and behavioural needs professionally and sensitively.
- Complete planning, reporting, and administrative tasks, and manage classroom staff effectively.
Requirements (Essential):
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience working in an SLD/SEN school setting with children with severe and profound learning difficulties.
- Team Teach certification (mandatory).
- Proven ability to manage challenging behaviours calmly and proactively.
- Experience using alternative communication methods such as PECS, core boards, or TouchChat.
- Strong organisational and classroom management skills.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience with sensory-focused learning and differentiated teaching approaches.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with pupils, staff, and families.
