Are you a passionate Humanities Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? An independent SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Barnet is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Humanities Teacher to join their team.

This holistic and nurturing school caters to students aged 11-18, the majority of whom experience anxiety disorders, mild ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), and other social-emotional challenges. The school prides itself on providing a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment with zero challenging behaviour.

What They Offer:

  • A holistic approach to education, focusing on the emotional and academic development of each student.
  • Small class sizes to ensure personalized learning and support.
  • A positive and supportive team environment.
  • The opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of vulnerable young people.
  • A clear pathway to a permanent role after a successful 12-week period through the agency.

What They Are Looking For:

  • A qualified Humanities Teacher (QTS) who is passionate about working in an SEMH setting.
  • Someone with a calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • A teacher who can engage and inspire students, helping them to build confidence and achieve academic success.
  • Previous experience working with students with mental health challenges, ASD, or anxiety is desirable but not essential.

Contract Details:

  • 12 weeks temp via agency, moving to a permanent contract if successful.
  • Competitive daily rate during the temp period.
  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school where you can genuinely make a difference while working in a calm and supportive environment. If you are passionate about inclusive education and are looking for your next role, we would love to hear from you!
