2500 plus employees and sub-contractors Fleet - 1000 vehiclesDirect and Indirect experience is needed for this Director level role.Must-have experience: Senior procurement leadership in construction/maintenance/FM (multi-site; self-deliver + subcontract). ERP procurement enablement (preferably Dynamics 365): P2P/approvals/catalogues/3-way match and change adoption. Proven in-year savings delivery with reconciliation to EBITDA and cash. Strong commercial contracting (frameworks, rebates, PVMs, service credits) and subcontractor performance management. Team leadership with a coaching mindset; thrives in high-tempo interim mandates. Ability to engage with senior stakeholders in the business to inform strategy and approachAbout the company:We maintain and improve buildings and social infrastructure, social housing, healthcare, defence, education, and utilities.Role purpose:Lead procurement through a six-month transition with a hands-on focus on ERP enablement and purchase-to-pay (P2P) controls in Dynamics 365. Deliver measurable in-year savings, embed P2P discipline (requisitions, Pos, receipting, 3-way match), strengthen subcontractor and supplier management, support fleet and plant cost/control, and ready the function for the permanent director.Key responsibilities: Stakeholder engagement & strategic partnering across Operations, Commercial/QS, Finance, SHEQ, IT. Dynamics 365 embedment with IT/Finance: workflows, approval matrices, categories, vendor onboarding, catalogues, receipting, and 3-way match. Ensure subcontractor documentation and job completions flow into D365 for PO, receipting, and invoice match. Lead and coach a 5-person team: daily stand-ups, weekly pipeline, monthly performance pack. Subcontractor management: develop subcontractor management strategy PQQ mobilisation: a new system is being rolled out: ensure onboarding, insurance, H&S, accreditations, and right-to-work compliance etc. Manage communication and training needs of the business Support M&A integration: Day-1 continuity, novations, pricing/catalogue harmonisation, TSA exit milestones, and quick-win synergies. Partner with Finance: synergy and initiative benefits tracking to EBITDA/cashOther

  • Stand up dashboards (and design for the new system): PO compliance, on- vs off-contract spend, GRNI, maverick spend, invoice cycle time, supplier OTIF.
  • Negotiate and maintain rates/SoRs, scopes, and service levels; implement call-off/LOI mechanisms and variation controls.
  • Align with Operations/Commercial on measurements, valuations, and pay-when-paid terms; support dispute resolution and claims.
  • Define/enforce SLAs (RFQ turnaround, PO cycle time, receipting timeliness) and a clear RACI with Ops, Commercial/QS, SHEQ, and Finance.
  • Run RFQs/RFPs/e-auctions; negotiate PSAs/LOIs; manage framework compliance.
  • Drive TCO via specification/rationalisation, logistics, warranty; implement rebate programmes with auditable trackers.
  • Segment the supply base; implement SLAs/KPIs/QBRs; resolve commercial/operational disputes.
  • Lead contingency/dual-sourcing on critical lines; monitor financial/operational risk; ensure product assurance and quality.
  • Embed social value, Scope 3/carbon, and modern-slavery due diligence in sourcing and subcontracting.
  • Maintain policy/regulatory compliance (incl. PCR 2015 where applicable); ensure site H&S and ethical sourcing clauses in contracts.
