Prime Appointments are currently working with a global manufacturer who are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to come and join their fast growing team of experienced engineers based in Colchester! They are an industry leading company who specialise in the design, test, certification and manufacturing within the defence industry

The successful candidate will play a vital role in driving engineering excellence, ensuring product quality and contributing to business growth through innovative design solutions.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be required to:

• Design and develop new products while ensuring compliance with technical specifications
• Create precise 3D CAD models and manufacturing-ready designs for components and products
• Prepare and deliver project progress reports during monthly engineering reviews
• Develop essential technical documentation, including Design FMEA, Product Risk Analysis, and Technical Specifications
• Ensure all designs and processes adhere to quality standards and industry regulations

Skills & Qualifications Required:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in an HVAC or mechanical engineering environment
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software
• Proven experience in product development and delivery projects
• Knowledge of software and programming is advantageous
• HNC/Degree in Engineering or equivalent
