Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and deliver individualised lesson plans that meet the educational and emotional needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and specialists to create a supportive and effective educational environment.
  • Regularly assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to ensure optimal learning.
  • Participate in IEP (Individual Education Plan) meetings and provide updates on student progress.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching tools and sensory integration techniques to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that encourages student participation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or PGCE with a focus or experience in Special Educational Needs.
  • Proven experience as an SEN Teacher or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, creativity, and dedication to student development and education.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of students with various learning abilities and styles.
