Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payments Analyst to join their dynamic operations team. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely execution of borrower and lender payments, in line with agreements and internal procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and validate borrower payment files and other remittances for release by the Payments or Relationship Management team
- Check and release payment files for scheduled interest, fees, and principal payments to lenders
- Manage and process ad-hoc or unscheduled principal payments, including accrued interest, in collaboration with the Relationship Management team
- Monitor and track payment files through various approval and release stages, ensuring timely execution before currency cut-off times
- Notify bank of upcoming account activity
- Conduct professional and client-focused call backs for first-time payments to verify authenticity and enhance client experience
- Provide training and refreshers to new and existing team members within the Operations team
- Support with additional ad-hoc tasks and duties as required
Required Expertise:
- Proven experience in a payments operations role within financial services
- Subject matter expertise in payment operations and related systems
- Strong understanding of operational risk and compliance in a financial environment
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Experience in investigating and resolving payment failures and exceptions
