Our client is a non-profit organisation working with people to support their health and wellbeing. Established for over 35 years, they have provided services alongside a variety of statutory and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) colleagues in Surrey and its boarders. They believe change is achievable when offered by a flexible, respectful, inclusive and a non-judgemental approach. They are currently looking for a Women's Secure Pathway Enhancement Worker to provide a short term one to one and group support within a forensic mental health setting. Location - Woking Within this role you will be co-designing and delivering weekly group activities with women aimed at improving their well-being. You will also work with a small caseload of women on a 1-2-1 basis, being led by each woman with the overarching aim of supporting engagement with key links between secure inpatient services and the outside community. You will work in a trauma informed way to enhance any existing support plans with the primary objective being to further build each persons knowledge, confidence and strategies to prepare them for the transition into the community, connecting them with services and professionals. You will also hold small group sessions around well-being activities that are aimed at building on strengths and enhancing well-being of women in the secure setting in partnership with other key staff on the wards. It is key that you are able to work in a trauma informed, person centred way with a holistic approach, creating a safe, non judgemental environment. This post is subject to a DBS check. Please note past drug and/or alcohol or criminality history will not necessarily discount you from undertaking this role. Our ideal applicant will have/be;
  • Experience of working with a community or mental health setting providing support
  • Lived experience with mental health or the criminal justice system is an advantage but not essential
  • Experience of facilitating group sessions is desirable but not essential
  • Empathetic nature but hold strong boundaries with personal resilience and the ability to stay focused in a rapidly changing environment
  • An ability to interact positively and sensitively with women
  • Good inter-personal skills and the ability to work and relate well with others at all levels, in a team and with partners
  • A high level of self-motivation, the ability to set priorities and manage time effectively, working with the minimum of supervision.
