Sports Teaching Assistant

Sports Teaching Assistant Tower Hamlets, East London Full-time & Part-time Term-time Start: ASAP / Ongoing

We are working with primary and secondary schools across Tower Hamlets who are seeking energetic and motivated Sports Teaching Assistants to support PE lessons, physical activity, and pupil engagement across the school day.

This role is ideal for candidates with a background in sport, coaching, fitness, or physical education, who are passionate about using sport to support learning, behaviour, and wellbeing.

As a Sports Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support PE lessons and sports activities across the school

• Work 1:1 or in small groups to support pupils' engagement and behaviour

• Assist teachers with setting up, delivering, and supervising physical activities

• Encourage teamwork, confidence, and positive behaviour through sport

• Support pupils with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs through structured activity

• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and active learning environment

• Background in sport, coaching, fitness, or PE (degree or qualification desirable)

• Experience working with children or young people

• Confident, energetic, and positive role model

• Strong behaviour management and communication skills

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
