Transport Planner

Location:BedfordSalary:£35,000 - £40,000 depending on experienceSummary:

We seek an energetic, results-orientated Transport Planner to join a dynamic, growing logistics business. The company is recognised for supreme levels of customer service, so the successful candidate will be highly personable, have strong technical knowledge and excellent attention to detail in order to deliver a first-class service to customers. This role is working Monday - Friday, 5am - 3pm. Key Responsibilities:

• Support the transport planning operation to ensure timely, efficient and cost-effective deliveries.
• Allocate resources, organise schedules and ensure that robust planning is in place to meet service level agreements.
• Ensure compliance to legislative requirements including Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
• Work closely with the team of Drivers, conducting briefs and de-briefs, managing their workloads and resolving any driver queries.
• Ongoing focus on continuous improvement and constantly strive to improve operational efficiencies and fleet performance.
• Support the Transport Manager with compliance, audits and reporting.
• Liaise with the wider team to support transport activities and ensure that an excellent service is delivered to customers.

Key Skills/Experience:

• Previous experience in a planning role within a fast-paced transport operation.
• Knowledge of UK road transport regulations.
• Previous experience working for The Pallet Network is particularly desirable for this role.
• Good IT skills including use of Excel and transport management systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High levels of organisation, able to balance and prioritise workloads.
