Art Teacher (Maternity Cover) - Prendergast School Location: Prendergast School, Lewisham Contract: Part-time (3-4 days per week) - Maternity Cover Duration: Easter 2026 - February 2027 Pay to scale. (aligned with teacher union guidance)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Art Teacher to join Prendergast School on a part-time basis (3-4 days per week) to cover maternity leave from Easter 2026 until February 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established secondary school with a strong commitment to creativity and high standards of teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will be passionate about Art education, able to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, and committed to delivering engaging and high-quality lessons.

• Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons across KS3 and KS4

• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress

• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environmen

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching Art at secondary level

• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

Supportive and collaborative staff team Well-established behaviour systems Engaged and motivated students

This role is ideal for an experienced Art Teacher seeking a part-time maternity cover position within a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school.
