The Role
Due to continued success, our client is seeking a Building Safety Consultant to lead on compliance with the Building Safety Act (BSA) and Building Regulations. This is a non-regulatory role, providing the freedom to positively contribute to building safety across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will work closely with design teams, clients, and developers to ensure compliance, as well as contributing to CDM advisory services.

• Salary: 40,000 - 55,000 DOE + 4,500 car allowance.

Building Safety Consultant Job Overview

• Lead on the Building Regulations and BSA Principal Designer role.
• Advise clients and project teams on Building Regulations and the new procedural requirements under the Building Safety Act 2022.
• Deliver BSA / Building Regulations Principal Designer functions across select projects.
• Engage with clients to outline project scope and compliance approach.
• Represent the company at Building Control partner workshops.
• Monitor deliverables and provide monthly client reports.
• Conduct technical review sessions with designers.
• Develop and implement company policies, systems, and training standards related to the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations.
• Oversee building control partners and establish clear scopes of work.
• Support quality and compliance initiatives within the business.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior staff members.
• Assist with onboarding and recruiting new team members.

Building Safety Consultant Job Requirements

• Experience in Building Regulations, Building Control, or a related field.
• Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g. MRICS, MCABE, CIOB, or equivalent)- Flexible if qualified via experience
• Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a growing team.
• Excellent communication and client engagement skills.
• Willingness to travel when required
