A renowned private medical eye clinic on Harley Street (Oxford Street station) is looking to recruit an Ophthalmic Technician to deal with the growing demand. Previous ophthalmic technician experience coming from a private medical setting is required. The role is exciting and involves assisting the scientific research team with research. The Ophthalmic Technician will carry out pre- and post-operative ophthalmic testing for patients, as well as assist with surgical and administrative duties within the nursing team. They will also play a pivotal role in the patient journey and help to coordinate the management plan required for the patient.This Ophthalmic Technician role offers a competitive salary, which depends on experience.
Ophthalmic Technician responsibilities:
• Clinical Imaging• Perform a wide range of advanced imaging tests, including:• Macula and Peripheral OCT (including Ultrawidefield and Navigated OCT)• OCT Angiography (OCT-A)• Fundus Autofluorescence (FAF)• Ultrawidefield Fundus Photography• Fluorescein Angiography (FFA)• Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICG)• Adaptive Optics (AO)• Microperimetry• Full-Field Stimulus Threshold (FST)• Electrophysiology tests (e.g., ERG, PERG, mfERG)• Biometry and Axial Length Measurements
The Ophthalmic Technician Qualifications and Experience: Ability to demonstrate initiative. Approachable, polite, and flexible with excellent communication skills. Ideally, but not necessarily recent experience in an ophthalmic environment. Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks.
