Senior Associate - Trade Finance

Location: Central LondonSalary: £27,500 per annumContract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Associate - Trade to join our Wholesale Division in Central London. This is a permanent opportunity offering excellent exposure to international trade finance operations, including Letters of Credit (LCs), buyer's and supplier's credit, reimbursement claims, and collections.

As part of the Trade team, you will be responsible for processing trade transactions in accordance with international guidelines, while ensuring a high level of accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Trade Operations:

• Processing and advising Letters of Credit (LCs), including amendments and document checking

• Handling Buyer's Credit, Supplier's Credit, Secondary Market transactions, and direct payments

• Processing reimbursement claims, inward and outward collections in line with UCP 600, URC 522, ISBP 98, and URR 725

• Ensuring proper due diligence on applicants, beneficiaries, and trade transactions using tools like WorldCheck, Companies House, and internet searches

• Maintaining accurate records and registers, including Ti Plus entries and daily reports

• Handling customer queries related to trade transactions

• Supporting end-of-month reporting and general administrative tasks

Compliance & Controls:

• Adhering to all regulatory and internal compliance guidelines for trade finance

• Performing due diligence on commodities, geographies, and counterparties involved in each transaction

• Ensuring swift message processing and prompt document dispatches

• Closing and archiving expired LC files with complete documentation

• Prior experience in trade finance, including LC processing, collections, and reimbursement claims

• Strong working knowledge of UCP 500/600, URC 522, URR 725, and Incoterms

• Proficient in using Ti Plus and SWIFT platforms for trade operations

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of transactions accurately

• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills

• Self-reliant, adaptable, and dependable under pressure

• Proactive and organised with strong time management skills

• Capable of presenting a professional and courteous image in all internal and external interactions

• Willingness to support ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Head of Trade or Assistant Manager
