Cable Jointer

Future Build Recruitment are actively recruiting for a HV/LV Cable Jointer to join a large civil engineering contractor. You will be responsible for carrying out jointing and termination works on low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) power distribution networks. The role involves working on underground cable systems, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while adhering to industry regulations and company procedures.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Carry out HV and LV cable jointing, terminations, and associated works.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Perform risk assessments and maintain safe working practices.
• Prepare and maintain materials and tools required for each job.
• Work efficiently to complete tasks within agreed timeframes.
• Report defects, hazards, or incidents as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of completed works.
• Communicate effectively with site teams, supervisors, and customers.
• Support the Jointing Supervisor and Project Manager in achieving project milestones and KPIs.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Previous experience as an HV/LV Cable Jointer.
• Strong electrical background, preferably within a DNO or IDNO environment.
• NRSWA and Electric SHEA qualifications (preferred).
• Health and safety awareness, including understanding of risk assessments and method statements.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and cable maps.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• IT literacy for reporting and documentation.
• Experience working on electrical distribution networks.
