Principal Advisor for Early Years Wood Green14/07/2024 - 3 months initiallyMonday to Friday, 9am - 5.30pm, 36 hrs/week (Hybrid - will include visits/presence in the office when required)
- This role is focused on raising standards in all settings, improving OFSTED inspection outcomes and ensuring the delivery of high Early Years Foundation Stage practice
- Lead on service improvements and ensure alignment with Ofsted and EYFS standards
- Oversee Ofsted readiness and support post-inspection actions
- Key areas of work are to challenge and support Early Years settings in improving standards and organisational performance, for the benefit of local children
- Address operational issues promptly, including staffing, incidents, or complaints
- Act as the strategic lead for serious safeguarding concerns or escalations
- Ensure robust safeguarding practices and statutory compliance across all nurseries
- Manage budgets effectively to ensure financial stability and appropriate use of resources
- Liaise with staff in a number of the departments, as well as with workers in private and voluntary agencies to ensure a co-ordinated approach to the promotion of quality and equality in all settings
- Support and guide nursery managers, especially during periods of absence or instability
Requirements
- UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
- Relevant qualification
- Experience in managing a number of nurseries
- Knowledge and understanding of the range of early years settings with whom they would be required to work, including schools, full day and sessional private, voluntary and independent early education and childcare provision, children's centres and childminders
- DBS registered to the update service
